Author/Character Comparison
The author, Stephen King, places himself within the book multiple times. For example, when King writes about the boys living on the farm with their grandfather and not knowing where their parents were exactly. This is shown in King’s when he grows up with mostly seeing his mother. However, the setting is a major connection to where King had lived quite a bit of his life, which happens to be in Maine, the same place in which the book takes place (The Author). Another way King connects himself within the book is when all the characters in some form have an accident that harms them in some way. Like Chief Perkins, who had died from his pacemaker exploding. Whereas King is hit by car and manages to survive (Stephen King Biography).
